Application Process

  1. Verify the parcel is in unincorporated Butler County (not within city or village corporate limits or their extraterritorial zoning jurisdictions).
  2. As of March 2026, Butler County has no structural building permit program for unincorporated areas. However, statewide permits still apply—see General Requirements below.

General Requirements

The Planning Commission (established late 2025) is developing a comprehensive plan and possible zoning regulations (estimated 9-10 months). However, statewide permits remain mandatory.
