Application Process
- Determine whether your project requires a building permit and/or a zoning permit (contact Building Division at 406-447-8490 if uncertain).

General Requirements
Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure within Helena city limits must obtain the required permit before work begins. This includes new construction, additions, remodels, mechanical/electrical/plumbing work, demolition, and change of occupancy.
